Muzeum Ziemi Wałeckiej

     Muzeum Ziemi Wałeckiej to placówka mieszcząca się w Wałczu, stanowiąca miejską jednostkę organizacyjną. Jej siedzibą jest klasycystyczny dwór, który pochodzi z początku XIX wieku. Muzeum zostało założone w 1982 roku i gromadzi eksponaty związane z historią regionu, od czasów prehistorycznych aż po lata powojenne.

 

     W ramach stałej wystawy zatytułowanej „Dzieje Ziemi Wałeckiej” można zobaczyć różnorodne eksponaty archeologiczne, w tym artefakty z wykopalisk w Strącznie i Tucznie, takie jak wyposażenie grobów, przedmioty codziennego użytku oraz elementy uzbrojenia. Muzeum prezentuje także dokumenty z XVII i XVIII wieku, które odnoszą się do lokalnego starostwa, pamiątki z okresu zaborów pruskich oraz eksponaty związane z przełamywaniem Wału Pomorskiego w 1945 roku. W zbiorach znajdują się również prace rzemiosła artystycznego.

 

     W ramach Muzeum działa Skansen Fortyfikacyjny Grupa Warowna "Cegielnia", zlokalizowany przy ulicy Południowej. Skansen umożliwia zwiedzanie pozostałości dawnych niemieckich umocnień Wału Pomorskiego, które zostały zbudowane w latach 1932-1935.
